Missing information when exporting article references

We are currently experiencing two problems with exporting references to RefWorks.

In the AUB Link menu (shown when e.g. following links to articles from Google Scholar) the import window in RefWorks is empty.

In our own article search an export to RefWorks will work, however sometimes (!) it will not have publication year.

We are in contact with our vendors to solve these issues.

Ebscohost has trouble exporting references to RefWorks off campus

Updated on the 16th. of Janurary, 2013

Some have experienced problems exporting references from databases included in the Ebscohost platform to RefWorks when they are off campus. Ebscohost and databases such as ERIC, Cinahl and Academic Search Premier which are provided to AUB through Ebscohost, normally provide direct export of references to RefWorks but lately this has not been possible.

It is important to notice that direct export of references from the Ebscohost platform on campus should work without problems. The issue occurs when you are off campus.

The problem with exporting references from the Ebscohost platform outside of the campus network is related to the library’s remote access system. We are currently working on a solution.

Meanwhile if you need to extract references from a database from the Ebscohost platform while being off campus you can do this by importing the reference as a text-file. You can find a guide for this at page 6 at Aalborg University Library’s RefWorks manual at this address http://www.aub.aau.dk/digitalAssets/60/60930_refworksmanual_januar_2013.pdf

Furthermore you should be able to export single references by clicking the “AUB link” which is shown in the various database records and by then clicking “more options” exporting the reference directly to RefWorks. You can contact Aalborg University Library’s RefWorks support team if you need any help RefWorks@aub.aau.dk.

Write-N-Cite vers. 2.5 for Mac have problems with the docx format

For the time being, documents saved in the format .docx will cause an error when formatting the document in Writ-N-Cite for Mac. Instead, please save the document in the older .doc format, which gives no problems until the problem has been solved.

For your information, RefWorks has launched a new version of Write-N-Cite vers. 4 for Mac. You can download this through your RefWorks account under “Tools” –> Write-N-Cite.
